Assalamualaikum. This is my article, as follows:

As we go about our daily routine, we almost always seem to forget that every act that we do during the day would not escape unnoticed. No matter what we do, there is a universal and undeniable truth that pervades our life in this world. That truth is that Allah knows each and every act, be it harsh or subtle, big or small, evident or discreet, and most importantly, whether it is sincere and for the sake of Allah, or not.

There are many instances that we can clearly see in our day-to-day routine. A personal favourite of mine can be seen in the free mixing between the genders (and particularly disgusting would be among the same gender). I would like to state that under no circumstances whatsoever, do i assume a 'holier than thou' perspective in this matter. But i become disheartened when there are so many couples out there (particularly those in the 13-15 age group) who are nonchalant when it comes to their interactions with the opposite gender. I'm not trying to be a killjoy, but they are so lax about something that Allah holds very sacred.

Many times we hear of supposedly intimate relations among couples which will finally end up with unwanted pregnancies and in most cases, the ultimate breakup of the relationship. Islam enjoins that we take a somewhat conservative outlook with regards to relationships, as it will help to make the ummah united and obedient to Allah. I always pray to Allah that all Muslim youths, myself included, would be guided by Allah to the straight path. Another thing that keeps cropping up is the issue of trust, or rather the lack of this important virtue.

Nowadays, we often hear of cases of fraud and deceit, which in fact should not happen if we truly follow the deen. These days corruption has become the norm of everyday life. It is all too easy to blame the Western world for the decay of our morals, when in fact we should have a good look at ourselves and say 'Do i have the right niat (intention)?', when we should know better that Allah knows. A particularly sad thing that is clearaly evident is the increasing rate of crime in our beloved country. We often hear of individuals being murdered for the most trivial of matters. Another worrying trend is the increasing number of cases that are commited by sadistic and deviant criminals.

The murder of Noritta Shamsuddin and Nurin Jazlin Jazemin (it sickens me to think of what had been done to Nurin) should serve as a reminder to how we have become less attached to the tenets of Islam, and more inclined to the ways of Iblis and Syaitan. Therefore, there is a need for us to constantly be aware of our actions and work towards improving or lives for the better, in accordance with the teachings of Islam.

Insya Allah, Allah will always guide us and inculcate a sense of responsibilty and accountability in the hearts of every Muslim. We should always bear in mind that no matter how we try to hide our intentions and actions, be it good or bad, the most fundamental of truths: ALLAH KNOWS!

Salam Moderator,
Then, who are the culprits of all these ills? The parents, community, the government?

Some parties told us not to fingerpoint over this matter, but how would we correct the wrongs if we do not know who the doers are?

How can we cure a desease without knowing the cause i.e bacteria, viruses etc so that we can kill them.
